  • The video will not play. What can I do?

Make sure you have the latest Windows Media Player. You can download the latest player here: Down Load Windows Player 10

It could be any number of reasons:

    • First thing you should do if a video does not play is hit the Refresh button on your browser to reload the video.

    • Secondly, you may be trying to view a video that is too fast for your internet connection speed.

    • Thirdly, you may not have Windows Media Player on your computer, although it usually comes standard with Windows. Go to Microsoft to download Windows Media Player for free. If this does not work then you might need to upgrade your current player. You can do this buy following the instruction below.

If the video still will not play, please follow these steps. You have to perform both in the order specified for this to work.
    1) Go to: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/format/codecdownload.aspx - download and install new codecs as instructed on page.

    2) Go to: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/mp10/default.aspx - and reinstall WMP 10 from the page by clicking open in the download dialog box (be sure to close ALL Microsoft applications including IE when installing).

  • How do I put a video on my page?

    • Search and find your favorite music video.

    • Click the "Copy Code To Clipboard" button below the appropriate textbox.

    • Go to where you can edit your webpage. It will be different depending on what website you're on. There should be a specific page or area where you can change the text or words that appear on your webpage. Paste/insert the code in this area by pressing Ctrl V.

    • *NOTE* If you are a MySpace.com member, you can paste the code in the user comments below the member profiles, or you can paste it in the "Music" section by editing your profile.

  • Can I download or purchase music videos from your site?
Our site does not provide music videos for purchase or download. Our site only provides music video codes for educational and information purposes only. To purchase music you must contact the record companies. Our web site is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for you to enjoy all the videos codes you want. You can use the video codes all day long. We just can't redistribute or sell the videos.

  • Why does the video play slow?
The problem may be with the speed of your Internet connection. Users with fast connections such as T1 lines, cable modems, and DSL connections are able to watch our videos at a much higher quality than our 56K and 28K dial-up modem users. Streaming video over the Internet requires a great deal of bandwidth, and unfortunately 56K and slower connections are not fast enough to give you the quality picture you are probably looking for. We are working on new ways to improve the quality of our videos and hope to have this matter resolved in the future..

  • Why did my video stop working, it was working before?
The link to the video may be broken. We do not host the videos, so we have no control if videos are removed from another website's library. If you happen to come across a broken link please let us know by clicking the "Report broken link" button on the video page.

  • Can you fix my video - it keeps pausing?
If your player is skipping, the bandwidth might be too high for your actual Internet connection. Streaming video over the Internet requires a great deal of bandwidth, and unfortunately 56K and slower connections are not fast enough to give you a TV-quality picture. Your best viewing experience will occur with a DSL, cable modem, or T1 Internet connection.

  • How do I resize the video?
Change the height and width values in the code.

    Example:
height="300" width="200" (make the number between the quotes larger or smaller depending on the size you want).

  • How do I remove the controls on the video player?
Change the ShowControls value in the code.

    Example:
ShowControls="0" - removes the controls (play, stop, pause, etc.) from the video.
ShowControls="1" - adds the controls to the video.

  • When I click on a music video, I hear the audio but I don't see a video picture.

There are several reasons why you may not be able to view the video content streaming from our servers. They are included below, with the most common causes listed first.

You may be attempting to watch the material at a higher bandwidth than your Internet connection currently supports. If you are connecting to our service at a speed lower than 56K, then unfortunately it will not be possible to access our music video material unless you are willing to wait long periods of time.

Another possible cause may be that you do not have the Windows Media Player 9 codec installed on your system. This would be the cause only if you are using the 6.4 or 7 versions of the Windows Media Player. Download the Windows Media Player 9 codec.

A third reason may be the bandwidth-detection settings in your Windows Media Player. This can be a problem if you have an Internet connection that has a higher download speed than upload speed (such as cable or ADSL). If this is the case, you can correct it by manually setting the speed within the application.

To change the speed at which the Windows Media Player attempts to download content, please follow these steps:
    1. Start Windows Media Player.
    2. On the Tools menu, select "Options."
    3. Click the "Performance" tab.
    4. In the "My connection speed is" box, choose the appropriate setting. You should set this speed to match the speed of your Internet connection.
    5. Click "OK."

The last reason may be that your Windows Media Player is not currently set as the default application for video streaming. This can occur if you install another application and allow it to 'claim' these file type associations. To correct this, follow these steps:

    1. Start Windows Media Player.
    2. On the Tools menu, select "Options."
    3. Click the "File Types" tab.
    4. In this area, ensure that the "Windows Media," "Windows Media Audio," and "Windows Media Video" file types are selected.
    5. Click "OK."
